The Franco-Swiss brand Bell & Ross expands its recent but already iconic BR 05 collection, with on the menu, a whole new movement signed Kenissi as well as a new dial architecture, all available in two shades. Focus on this new livery named BR-X5.
Back to the BR 05 epic
A little reminder is in order, remember: Bell & Ross unveiled its BR 05 at the end of summer 2019. A brand new collection that reminds us of the work of Gerald Genta, while retaining the signature brand aesthetics. THE screws remain visible but are directly affixed to a wider bezel, joining the corners of the case. An evolution as subtle as it is effective which brings the Bell & Ross design into a more sport-chic. After a successful declination in chronograph 2 years ago, then in GMT more recently, it was time for the brand to put the cover back.
A brand new dial available in two shades
The first big difference is in the disappearance of Arabic numerals, leaving only the baton indexes, all the same supported by a plunging graduated flange. A rather logical absence making room for the two new elements making up the dial of the BR-X5: a power reserve indicator circular positioned at 9 o’clock, facing a large date window revealing 3 days. On the color side, a black dial with red details for a sober and slightly sporty proposal, called Black Steel, as well as a ice blue dial, more refreshing, named Ice Blue Steel. A third version called Carbon Orange, limited to 500 copies, was also unveiled.
A manufacture movement signed Kenissi
Let’s move on to the other great novelty that accompanies this BR-X5: it does not carry an ETA or Sellita movement like the other models. THE BR-CAL.323 is a caliber developed by Kenissi, a rising manufacturer that has already collaborated with Tudor and Breitling, and more recently with Norqain. Technically, this automatic movement offers a 70 hour power reserve and benefits from COSC certification, allowing Bell & Ross to offer a 5 year warranty to buyers of this BR-X5. You can observe it through its sapphire case back, also maintained by 4 visible screws. For each of the two versions offered, you will have the choice between a bracelet rubber taking up the tint of the dial to 6,900€ then a polished/brushed steel For 7,400€.
