The collaboration between TAG Heuer and Ayrton Senna begins in 1988. And 28 years after the tragic accident that claimed the life of the Brazilian champion during the San Marino Grand Prix, TAG Heuer continues to pay tribute to him. For this new edition, TAG Heuer and the Senna brand have chosen a relatively imposing chronograph, with a steel case of 44mm in diameter. It adopts a configuration with 3 counters, and adds the date at 3 o’clock. The dial mixes anthracite gray and black, with a few touches of bright red that add vitamins to the whole. The sunburst finish contrasts perfectly with the texture of the counters, made of concentric circles. At 6 o’clock, we find the logo ” Senna“. The tachometer bezel is also specific to this model. Made of black ceramic, it is signed “Senna”, and displays the speed of 400km/h, never reached in Formula 1. As a symbol of the perpetual quest for speed. The caseback is solid, and engraved with the helmet of the Brazilian champion, accompanied by the words: “ Senna Special Edition“. The bracelet adopts a very particular design, in double S, called ” SALT“, for Sport Elegance. It is directly inspired by the model worn by the Brazilian pilot as a TAG Heuer ambassador. The extra detail: this bracelet even has a extension special, to adapt to the sleeve of a racing pilot’s suit.
