Laurent Ferrier and the Atelier Series
Laurent Ferrier is one of the most talented watchmakers of his generation. Associated with his longtime friend François Servanin, he created his eponymous brand in 2009. Characterized by a clean aesthetic and an acute sense of detail, all integrated into classic hand-assembled timepieces, the brand won the men’s watch of the year award at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in 2010. A real feat! The Atelier Series, on the other hand, was born quite recently, with the release of the Classic Origin Green in 2020. It is a more exclusive collectionproduced in very limited quantities and sold only on the brand’s website.
A grade 5 titanium case
This Classic Micro-Rotor Magnetic Green has an envelope in grade 5 titanium, which was already the case on the Classic Traveller. It has a standard diameter of 40mmlogically associated with a thickness of 10.7mm, offering harmony and presence at wrist. His round curves and his fully polished finish bring softness and refinement, leaving no doubt about the dressed character of this piece.
A sumptuous green dial
For this fourth entry in the Atelier Series, the independent Swiss brand has chosen to use the color and finish of its Traveler model. A icy and subtle greenalmost minty, perfectly associated with long and slender indexes in white gold. Two finishes coexist: sunburst in the center, then circular brushed around the edge and in the small seconds counter at 6 o’clock. Everything is topped with a domed sapphire crystal echoing the generous curves of the case.
A manufacture micro-rotor movement
On the other side, another show awaits you. Laurent Ferrier knows how to take care of the design and aesthetics of his watches at least as much as he knows how to design reliable and dazzling movements. This new edition is equipped with a movement developed in the brand’s workshops, the caliber FBN229.01. It is composed of a gold micro-rotorjudiciously associated with a double impulse escapementall offering a comfortable 3-day power reserve. You will be able to observe these details as well as its high level of decoration (notably its circular-grained plates, and its hand-bevelled bridges) through a sapphire case back.
