After starting the year by celebrating Autavia’s 60th anniversary, TAG Heuer has just unveiled a new limited edition, in the collection Formula One this time. Focus on Red Bull Racing Special Editiondesigned in partnership with the famous Formula 1 team.

The 2021 Formula 1 World Championship came to a breathtaking end. Neck and neck with seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, it’s finally Max Verstappen who will win at the end of the very last Grand Prix of the season, in Abu Dhabi. Already partners since 2016, it is therefore also the Red Bull Racing Team and TAG Heuer who emerge victorious from this incredible season. And what better way to celebrate this consecration than a limited edition Formula One to delight the fans? This last full of details with reference to the stable. First the dial colors : a blue background, a flange and red sub-counter hands, a central hand and a 1/10 second sub-counter with yellow accents. We also find, on the graduated aluminum insert of its tachymeter bezel, the inscription “SPEED”referring to the constant quest for speed in Formula 1. Finally, the solid caseback of this special edition is engraved with the team logo associated with the checkered flag.
A quartz chronograph
TAG Heuer chose the version quartz chronograph of Formula One to honor this great victory. The watch features a 43mm stainless steel case in diameter displaying a sealing at 20 bar, i.e. 200 meters, precious and quite rare for a chronograph directly linked to motor racing. Under the hood, the watch is powered by a quartz movement, the caliber Ronda 5040D with accurate chronograph function 1/10 second.
Two bracelets to choose from
This new special edition is offered in two distinct references, distinguished by their frame. The reference CAZ101AL.FT8052 adorns itself with a textured blue rubber which definitely reinforces the sporty side of this piece, while the reference CAZ101AL.FT8042 is associated with a steel strap three-link construction and fully brushed finish. You will still have to count 1,900€ for the sports version and 2,100€ for the all-steel model. It’s not cheap for a quartz movement, but it will speak to speed lovers.
