CODE41 NB24 evolves with “Stratom” housing

Third round for the NB24 ! Two years after the first edition, the chronograph signed CODE41 returns with two new features, one of them major: a new case (inaugurated with the brand’s first tourbillon) as well as a new new tone orange chosen by the community. The most successful of the watchmaking troublemakers is back in the spotlight, to the delight of fans of this must-have watchmaking complication!

If you thought the name “NB24” came from a technical aspect of CODE41’s signature movement, that’s not the case. It’s a combination of initials of Nigel Baillypilot and brand ambassador, then the number 24 in a reference to the 24 Hours of Le Mans race which he dreamed of taking part in, something he accomplished the year of the release of NB24. This automatic movement is a CODE41 exclusive designed by the motor manufacturer Conceptoa chronograph specialist based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, based on the Valjoux 7750, the benchmark of its kind. The modifications are far from trivial, notably the addition of a peripheral mass visible from the dial side ! This is the heart of the watch, and one of the NB24’s major aesthetic components, along with a uni-compax display (commonly referred to as bi-compax, for linguistic reasons).

Let’s talk about the box. For brand aficionados, the original NativeDNA case is still available for this third edition, in both titanium and AeroCarbon for added lightness. But for those looking for a radically different timepiece, the new “Stratom” casealso in titanium, is available for the first time on the NB24 (logical, given that it was only launched this year). And even though its look is very appealing, with its multi-layer construction with a touch of Richard Mille, don’t forget that its design will make it more imposing on the wrist, with limited water-resistance. The choice is almost a Cornelian one, but it’s one worthy of deep reflection, for while pre-orders are starting now at prices from €7,900 inc.Delivery is scheduled for summer 2024.
