It’s impossible not to think of last year’s Louis Horror, not to mention the timing. In this dark, offbeat theme, it’s not seconde/seconde/ with whom the Swiss brand is collaborating, but a monument to watchmaking named Konstantin Chaykin with whom Louis Érard gives life to a duo named Dusk to Dawn.
Less jovial and more frightening than the famous ” Wristmons “ by the famous St Petersburg-based master clockmaker, this offbeat version of the Regulator by Louis Érard was inspired by a cyclops with a saw-like mouth just like the Slavic legend of Likho. If its aesthetic codes remind you of anything, you have a good memory, because the “time-eater” had already made a first appearance in April via two other limited editions. One of them was even shortlisted for the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG)!
This new collaboration takes two forms: a 42mm polished stainless steel case, and a 39mm black PVD-coated sandblasted steel case. The dial back is adorned with a sunray wave motif plate with a black-veined hour disc, a sharp-toothed seconds disc, and a large hand-shaped minute hand. The whole thing is – sit down – mounted on a black toad leather strap with red rabbit leather lining! Each model is limited to 178 pieces and priced at 4,000CHF (excluding tax).
